Living on the Edge!

The Edge at The University of Leeds with astroturf strip, custom flooring and custom wall art

The University of Leeds has recently spruced up their gym, with a brand new functional fitness area, The Edge. As well as a large collection of Jordan Fitness functional training equipment, the facility had vibrant flooring installed, to outline specific areas and enhance individual workouts. James Buckley, the Assistant Operations Manager at The Edge said, “Our Personal Training product has seen continual growth over the last 5 years, posting a further 29% increase in revenue during the last 12 months. Following this continued success of the service we have invested in the PT studio to offer a new state of the art functional training space, ensuring we stay on trend with the growing functional training market.”

The facility has been fitted with high-quality, hard wearing and versatile Functional Performance flooring. As well as Performance Flooring, TurFlex provided the perfect solution for a sled track for drag training to use with a prowler. The installation manager at Jordan Fitness, Jack Whitmore, was involved in the installation and thinks that, “TurFlex adds a different texture to the floor to enhance their customers’ training. It works really well in the area as it injects colour and adds a different terrain. It’s a great product to install!” James Buckley is proud to say that, “the newly revamped studio boasts the latest in functional fitness training solutions; including an 8 station-training rig, interactive floor markings and fully immersive graphic design.”

As well as a great selection of flooring, the Edge has invested in a huge collection of Jordan Functional Fitness equipment including; Sandbags, Olympic Training Equipment, Exercise Balls, Resistance Training Equipment and more. James Buckley says that “the investment will facilitate the launch of small group Personal Training, help to grow the current fitness course offering, and expand the Group-exercise program. With 17’000 members at peak times, training space can be at a premium; this new studio increases capacity and offers a branch of versatile training options to the member experience.”
