Independent club, The Pulse, in Derbyshire, has recently chosen to work with Jordan Fitness as part of their refurbishment project to create a functional fitness area at the facilities.  In addition to a comprehensive range of new functional equipment, The Pulse has also embraced Jordan Fitness’ new Results Based Training (RBT) system to create a unique space and to deliver intensive workshop programmes to help the club give the best service to its members.

The Pulse, based in Ripley Derbyshire, has been operational since 1995 with a growing membership of over 1000 people, ranging from de-conditioned casual users through to serious fitness enthusiasts. As part of a redevelopment project to modernise the expansive 12,000 sq ft of facilities at The Pulse, Jordan Fitness, in conjunction with Star Trac, has provided the club with kit, extensive flooring, free weights and plyometric platforms.

“The Pulse has a fantastic reputation in the local area for having a facility that caters for all”, said Zak Pitt, Sales Manager at Jordan Fitness. “Having a functional space with the best equipment is vital in providing excellent service for a club’s members. The Pulse has chosen a wide range of the functional products from us, such as Olympic training equipment and platforms, training ropes, a three bar wing, Jungle Gym XT, Power Wheels, AlphaStrong sandbags, Powerbags, and a Jordan heavy punch bag. The Pulse has also made a commitment to its members by investing in specialist training through our RBT Academy programme.”

The newly created functional area has helped The Pulse add to their revenue stream with group classes held weekly in the new functional space. The club has also identified the opportunity to hire out the functional area to local organisations; benefiting the wider local community, including the local rugby team, cage fighting and athletics clubs.

Marc Edwards, trainer at the Jordan Fitness Academy has provided The Pulse with two days of Functional Training Programming and exercise progression workshops to benefit the instructors at the club and assist them with training members.

Phil and Tamara, the Owners at Pulse Gym said: “We chose Jordan Fitness, after a tendering process, for their excellent quality equipment and great reputation. As part of the RBT System of layout planning and training, the Jordan Fitness Academy trainers are the most inspirational fitness professionals I have ever dealt with. The workshop training included “hands on” product training and also how to structure classes to get the best experience for our members. There was a perfect combination of theory and practical demonstrations, which means we can utilise this fantastic new space to the benefit of the local community”.

The Pulse also boasts two dedicated cardio areas, a separate ladies-only gym, a spin room, cafe, a nutritional supplement shop and dedicated freeweights and resistance area along with the new functional fitness space.  The club also has a selection of flexible membership options including student memberships, schools packages and Armed Forces discounts and a growing membership base of over 40 year olds.
